The journey of Foonster LLC began in the fall of 1994 when Nicolas Colbert joined Prodigy Communications, a groundbreaking partnership between IBM and Sears, as a help desk associate. Nicolas quickly advanced, playing a pivotal role in building the Customer Care Knowledge Base to support call centers and streamline operations.
In pursuit of further opportunities, Nicolas relocated to White Plains, NY, to work directly at Prodigy’s corporate headquarters. There, he collaborated with the legal team to ensure compliance with the Internet Decency Act of 1996 and built internal tools that facilitated HR integrations using only a browser. This unique approach simplified workflows and empowered employees across multiple departments.
In 2000, Nicolas transitioned to The Mining Company, which later became About.com, where he earned the title "Master of News and Weather." At About.com, he led dynamic content development, managing initiatives across more than 700 sites and expanding the platform’s reach and influence.
After the events of 9/11, Nicolas spent a couple of years working with small businesses, helping them navigate various internet challenges. In the fall of 2003, BakeTech invited him to assist with their Just-in-Time (JIT) inventory system. This project reignited his passion for solving business challenges with internet-based solutions and inspired him to launch Foonster LLC in 2004.
Driven by the philosophy of Process Simplified©, Nicolas founded Foonster LLC with a clear mission: to help businesses understand and leverage the internet to improve operations, streamline processes, and achieve sustainable growth.
